VOLCÁN Integrated Medium Oblong
The VOLCÁN Integrated Medium Oblong is the perfect nest for established colonies of ants. It features two water reservoirs to accommodate the number of ants within, ensuring the nest stays humid and all ants can obtain the correct amount of humidity they desire. The nest's stepped chambers allow the ants to regulate their heat and humidity, simulating a natural nest environment. The leather cover keeps the nest dark, providing a sense of security for the ants. The attached outworld means your founding colony doesn't have to travel far to find the nutrients they need. With two deep water reservoirs, gone are the days of watering daily. The water reservoirs will release a slow consistent flow of humidity.
 
This Ant Nest comes with a red acrylic cover that sits securely on the screws to provide a low-level lighting viewing opportunity to avoid the colony freaking out as much when the top cover is removed + A leather cover to maintain the ideal dark conditions for your ant colony + A 'Nest to PVC Tube' connector that slots into the outworld and allows you to connect from 12mm diameter, all the way up to 19mm diameter PVC tubing for easy expanding in the future + A Nest cap for when this isn't in use + A deep water reservoir, gone are the days of watering daily. The water reservoir will release a slow consistent flow of humidity. 
 
Suitable For
This nest is suitable for established colonies of ants. The amount of workers it will fit comfortably depends on the species as Ant size ranges.
 
Tips
You can also hydrate the Ytong block directly between the acrylic and it will soak it up- For those species who love humidity that extra bit more.
If you're heating the nest for an exotic species, do not heat under the water reservoir as this will create excess condensation.
For exotic species, it is recommended to heat the nest before moving the ants inside so you can monitor the temperatures within the nest and adjust it to their needs. 
For exotic species, be sure to provide a heat gradient so the ants can pick and choose where to sit.
Try not to overhydrate. Do not fill up the water reservoir needlessly. Not much water is required to achieve a high humidity and it's easier to add water than remove. You can find the sweet spot for your colony over time and adjust based on their behavior.
