Chia Seed Mix
This Chia seed mix is perfect for founding colonies of Messor and other species of harvester ants. Chia seeds are small enough to be enjoyed by founding colonies of harvester ants and are perfect to give them what they need from an early age.
This is the mix I use to raise hundreds of my small Messor colonies. As seeds are about 80% of the harvester ants' diet, it's important to give them access to small seeds they can get crack and chew before they have majors that are capable of breaking bigger seeds. These seeds are also enjoyed by mature colonies of Harvester ants too!
Young colonies without majors present will appreciate these seeds being crushed so they can access the insides easier.
